Interfaith Dialogue in Practice in Nigeria

Interfaith Dialogue

Perspectivity’s Han Verhoeven shares one of her most memorable experiences:

One of my most memorable training trajectories was the interfaith dialogue training of trainers in Nigeria that I delivered with Henk van Apeldoorn. Nigeria has experienced a lot of religious extremism by Boko Haram in the last couple of years. What I found particularly touching was an imam who after the first course organised an interfaith dialogue with religious leaders in the North. This was observed by hundred people and videotaped and shared at mosques and churches. The latest product of this group is a short movie made by Anthony Onugba. “All we need is peace” is a sincere testimony of the interfaith mediators in our course. I hope that this group will continue with their search for dialogue to make this country a better and safer place. I’m proud to be a part of this.
