German International Cooperation (GIZ) – Tanzania

The GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit or German International Cooperation) in Arusha, Tanzania is a federally owned German organisation that works with the East African Community (EAC) Secretariat to support the integration process.

The new phase – which runs from March 2013-February 2016- of an ongoing GIZ-EAC programme is structured in three modules:

  1. Organisational Development and PR
  2. Deepening regional economic integration
  3. Institutionalised dialogue between the private sector and civil-society organisations

Another area included in the programme is Peace and Security.
