Creating “learning-jobs” in Open Space events

In 2004-2005 Perspectivity facilitated six Open Space events in different regions of the Netherlands, in cooperation with EB Management. The purpose was to address youth employment, improve alignment between education and work environment and offer a platform for students that perform better in different contexts than schools.

The central idea behind the events was to create “learning-jobs”, whereby students learn a profession in a job environment. This requires cooperation and commitment by schools, businesses, knowledge centers, parents, students, labour organisations, branch organisations, chambers of commerce and so on.

The Open Space events hosted 100-200 participants in a highly engaging manner and the outcomes were taken up by regional action teams to put them to practice. Perspectivity designed and facilitated the events.

The sessions were sponsored by MKB-Netherlands and the National Platform for Professional Education (HPBO).
