By Vera Pollmann
I am thrilled to introduce myself as the newest addition to the dynamic team at Perspectivity in Beirut! My name is Vera Pollmann, and I am honored to join this visionary organization, where I will be working closely with the amazing Nohad El Hajj.
Let me share a bit about my background. At the age of 22, I completed my Bachelor’s degrees in Law and Political Science back in January. Driven by a deep fascination for understanding societal dynamics, I embarked on a journey to Beirut, seeking to explore diverse perspectives and enrich my knowledge. It was during this time that I came across Perspectivity and was captivated by their work and methods.
Now, you may be wondering why I am particularly interested in working for Perspectivity in the MENA region, with a special focus on Lebanon. The answer lies in the unique challenges and opportunities this region presents. Lebanon, a country with a rich history and cultural diversity, has grappled with significant social, economic, and political complexities. However, it also holds immense potential for positive transformation and growth.
By bringing Perspectivity’s expertise to the MENA-region and Lebanon, we can foster meaningful connections and facilitate dialogue processes that embrace diverse stakeholders. Strengthening common ground and promoting inclusivity of perspectives are crucial for navigating the intricate issues faced by Lebanon and the region as a whole. I firmly believe that through these efforts, we can generate fresh insights, provide opportunities for strategic decision-making, and ignite collective action.
I am genuinely thrilled about the possibilities that lie ahead. As an intern at Perspectivity, I am wholeheartedly committed to leveraging my skills, passion, and dedication to advancing social systems change in Lebanon and beyond. It is an incredible privilege to be part of such a forward-thinking organization that actively works towards shaping a better future.
