Future Search training for participatory policy development to increase participation of women in the higher education sector in Yemen.
A group of 30 stakeholders participated in a Future Search in Addis Ababa to lay a foundation for a policy to improve participation of women in higher education in Yemen. Participants came from the Ministry of Higher Education, Universities, Business (e.g. vice minister, deputy ministers, chairs of development centre Sanaa and Aden university, gender experts, directors of business clubs). The group consisted of 70 % women.
The result of the future search was a policy with seven building blocks, which will form the main parts of the policy. All participants contributed to the content of the policy and the building blocks. Two experts will write the final policy according to existing guidelines.
