A group of Arusha based public and non-governmental organisations approached Perspectivity to support their annual planning processes. Participants: the East African Community (EAC) Secretariat, the German International Cooperation (GIZ) and important stakeholders from Civil Society and Private Sector.

Perspectivity designed a program based on the concept of organizational learning. Participants start with reflecting on the past, celebrating successes and identifying challenges. The focus is on how effective the partners have been in working together towards common goals. This gives insight in what to keep and what to improve, especially in terms of collaboration, communication, monitoring and evaluation.

After this a collective brainstorm is held to collect ideas participants have for the coming year. Together they prioritize and plan more in detail, using SMART principles. The results are concrete work plans that everyone is committed to.

The assignment has been taken place three consecutive years in a row. The collaboration has increased effectiveness in achieving results and the partnership between EAC and GIZ has been strengthened and improved.
